“So who are these weird people, anyway?”
“…And Sewing Is Half The Battle!” is a team of three cosplayers from Indiana. They started costuming because they didn’t know what they were getting into, and despite having no formal training of any kind, eventually developed a life-altering addiction to sewing and crafting (though they use their powers only for cosplay. Don’t ask them to sew a button back on a shirt or anything practical.) They take themselves about as seriously as you’d expect for a group named after terrible 1980s G.I. Joe PSAs.
Initially founded as a competition group, ASIHTB has won more than 50 awards for their costumes and performances at fan conventions around the country. Although they still compete occasionally, their primary focus has shifted to teaching and helping other cosplayers improve their craftsmanship skills and stage presentation. ASIHTB can usually be found presenting cosplay workshops, teaching seminars and judging masquerades at conventions around the world, as well as offering educational programs for local libraries, museums, and nonprofit organizations.
