Slayers holds a special place of honor in this group, as Lina Inverse and Xelloss were Alena and Mark’s very first cosplay costumes ever. Of course, the first versions were… unpolished (we didn’t know how to sew yet), so some years (and a massive skill jump) later, we decided to revisit the series, inviting Mogchelle to join as Lina and FallingRain as Amelia.
Every piece of these costumes (except base boots, which were modified) was created from scratch, including cutting and dyeing the leather. We made several lighted props for this set, including Gourry and Zelgadiss’s swords (which glow blue and red, respectively) and Lina’s glowing amulets, as well as all the resin jewels and settings, swords, Xelloss’s staff, Lina’s dagger, and Zel’s facial prostheses. All costumes also feature character-related decorative stitching at the hems.
